The Redgarth is an ideal base from which to explore this wonderful and unique area.
The town of Oldmeldrum
lies to the west of Aberdeen just off the A947. where narrow streets and
interesting houses reflect the irregular plan of a medieval market town.
Oldmeldrum itself means 'burn of the bare hill ridge' from 'Allt' meaning burn, 'maol' bare and 'druin' ridge or hill.
