 As a visitor to Oldmeldrum you are well placed to enjoy the rolling landscape, stretching from the Cairngorm National Park to our beautiful coastline with its small fishing villages, cliffs, marine and bird life. Where the narrow streets and interesting houses of Oldmeldrum reflect the irregular plan of a medieval market town. The name itself means 'burn of the bare hill ridge' from 'Allt' meaning burn, 'Maol' bare and 'Druin'. More castles and distilleries can be found in Aberdeenshire than any other part of the country. Boasting three fishing rivers, the River Dee, River Don and River Deveron as well as sea and loch fishing, visiting fisherman are in their element. An abundance of stunning links and parkland golf courses are also on our doorstep for you to enjoy. In the summer months Aberdeenshire hosts a number of traditional festivals and Highland games.
